Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Stuart McColl. Recently I found a letter written by a child for their dad who passed away. The letter was attached to a helium balloon and was too sad to ignore. I initially posted the letter on social media with the intention of finding this individual and raising some money to help pay for the presents they wanted for Christmas.

The story has touched so many people and I have received a lot of lovely messages from people wanting to help.

I have decided that the best way I can help is by raising money for a great charity. I would like to donate to Child Bereavement UK as they care for children in exactly the same situation as this individual who wrote the letter.

We may not ever locate this child, and perhaps whoever cares for them who like to remain private, which I completely understand. It's such a personal letter and it's important that this child is not named publicly to protect his or her identity.

If I ever do find this child, I would love to do something special for them. In the meantime,
I would like to help raise as much money as possible to bereaving children who are going through a tough time and deserve something good to happen, especially at this time of year.

Thank you for taking the time to read this plea. I will be most grateful for donations of any amount.

Seasons greetings!

Stuart
