We enable physically disabled people to to enjoy inclusion through technology

Story

A couple of months ago, four men had a dream. They decided that they would play Halo 5 for a stupidly long period time, and in the process, raise money for charity.

We are those men. We are Sumonix Bears.

Our health will be sacrificed and our sanity pushed to the limit live on Twitch from May 18th, 19th and 20th as we take on the Guinness World Record for playing a Halo game continuously. The current record stands at a gulp-inducing 51 hours.

With varying levels of ability, you'll see the highs and lows of competitive Halo as we pit our skills against the very best the world has to offer over Xbox Live.

You can expect to see a steep decline in our ability the longer the challenge goes on, of course, along with our physical and mental functions.

But this gaming marathon isn't just about immortalising our foolish escapade and hopefully entering the book of Guinness World Records. No, we're determined to raise money for a fantastic charity in SpecialEffect who help people with disabilities enjoy video games - http://www.specialeffect.org.uk

SpecialEffect enable severely disabled people to use computers in any way possible – using whichever part(s) of their body that work best - by adapting technology to their individual needs. It’s so important they can join in with family/friends, to be included and not left out. This can hugely benefit rehabilitation, mental well being, self-esteem and quality of life – and much needed FUN!

So, as you can imagine, this is going to be one hell of a challenge. We're going to need all your support if we're to make it to the end so please give generously and don't forget to tune in on May 18th, 19th and 20th!

If you're a fan of Halo, the wonderful work that SpecialEffect carry out, or simply a sadist who enjoys watches people being pushed to an inch of their life, then we look forward to your donation and support from May 18th. Oh, and there will also be giveaways during the event - what more do you need?!

Starring: Stephen James, Adam Vjestica, Chris Pang and Rhys Wood.
