Sunderland Fans Wembley Fundraising EFL Trophy 2021 is raising money for FOUNDATION OF LIGHT

Sunderland vs Tranmere Rovers Papa John's EFL Trophy Final · 14 March 2021

North East sports foundations, together with North East Mayor Kim McGuinness and the North East Housing Partnership, are coming together to make sure that no child is left on the sidelines with a campaign to raise funds to provide sporting opportunities for children across the region.

Story

The lads have done it again - Wembley here we come!!

We've all been through the many heartbreaks of Wembley defeats since '73. All being well this time will be different and come March 14th we'll be celebrating a trophy win, albeit from the comfort of our own homes.

A poster on the Pure football form going by the name of "Hmmmmmm Returns" set the ball rolling on an idea for supporters to donate money they would otherwise have spent on the trip to Wembley (tickets, transport and maybe a half of shandy).

There are two giving options, both causes close to ost Sunderland fan's hearts - The Sunderland Fundation of Light (ie this page) or the Bradley Lowery Foundation - which can be found at

Hopefully Pompey, Salford and Tranmere fans can do something similar for their local charities too?

Thanks for giving and Haway the Lads!!

....and Kyril - we hope you can give VERY generously ;-)
