At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will already know my Dad suffered with Alzheimers, but despite his condition he still managed to keep his sense of humour and the love he had for his family.

We could not have asked for a better, more caring, generous and loving Dad and we were so lucky to have had him for even the short time we did.

It is extremely hard to watch someone special and close to you suffer with this nasty disease, in my familys personal situation Dad was fully aware that he was not well, but he tried to make the best of it and use his sense of humour to disguise his condition.

Even until the very end he was very outgoing and active and loved his football.  He supported Newcastle Utd and his local team Crawley Town FC and regularly went to home games, where he was well known by other fans.

His favourite hobbie was walking or should I say jogging!!!  He was very fit and even people half his age couldnt keep up with him lol.

This walk is taking place on what would have been Dad's 68th Birthday so it will be a very difficult time for me and my family however we wanted to celebrate Dad's life and try to raise as much money for this very special and worthy cause.

Any donations, no matter how small, are very welcome.

Many thanks SusieQ & Twiglet xxxx
