Camino Frances · 2 October 2021
In recent years it has become increasingly evident that our beautiful 17th century church roof is leaking with copious amounts of water coming through. There is significant damp internally, but this is just the visible part. The issue is around the chancel arch, coping stones, a lack of lead flashing and ridge tiles. There have also been several other issues identified such as problems with the timbers (which hold up the roof). If these, and other issues are not addressed imminently there is the potential for the roof to collapse and render the building not fit for use. We have been informed that estimated costs may be in the region of £220,000!!! This was a devastating blow. we are keen to address the building as soon as possible. We want our church to continue to be a place of worship for our community not just for current generations, but for generations to come. Thank you!

We walked into Santiago de Compostela on our final leg of the Camino Frances on Sunday 10 th October after 8 days on the road and 113 kms. All so happy and relieved to have completed the walk and to receive our certificate of completion and attend the pilgrim’s service in the Cathedral. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and donated..
