Great North Run 2016 · 11 September 2016 ·
I was blessed to grow up with an amazing Mummy and family who looked after me and kept me safe. I don't have Mum any more but she raised me well and I treasure my childhood memories - I really hope I'm now passing on all the love my Mum gave me to my children. Since losing Mum two years ago, running has been a much needed way to get my thoughts in order and focus on something positive.
My good friends Jen and John Morris embarked on a mission to raise £4000 for the NSPCC this year (while they wait to adopt) and I wanted to get involved - this seemed like a fitting way to honour my wonderful Mum while helping those who don't have what I had (or are waiting for amazing people like Jen and John to provide it for them). So I'm taking on a running challenge and hoping to get them 10% of their target figure. I'm ridiculously proud of them and their adoption journey AND they want to raise funds for others too. Legends!
The NSPCC supports oodles of children living with poverty, abuse, neglect and they run the childline helpline too. They also work alongside families to provide support in lots of ways. They provide incredible services, vital to children in our communities.
