At 12 midday on 8 June 2019, hopefully not in the rain I'll be abseiling down the front of the theatre to raise money to support the Centres community projects work giving people access to the arts. 

I work with Theatre versus Oppression on the applied theatre project Behind the Label to give access to the arts to people with experience of homelessness. Supported by The Centre and The Wallich homelessness charity BEHIND THE LABEL uses drama to build confidence and self esteem in weekly workshops and puts on a show in the Weston Studio in November about their experiences.

Our aim is to raise awareness about the causes of homelessness and what needs to change to end it. But our main aim is to show how the arts can reach people who have been marginalised and forgotten and create hope.

For nearly 15 years Wales Millennium Centre has been nurturing the talents of those held back by poverty, vulnerability and disadvantage through a range of Creative Learning and outreach programmes, helping to provide self-belief, hope and growth.
