Story

I have got diabetes and have had it for 4 years going onto 5. There are two types of diabetes 1 and 2, I have got 1.

Sometimes diabetes is annoying because you have to prick your finger every time before you eat. When I'm low I have to eat for dextro energy tablets which are lumps of pure sugar that are flavoured orange and black current-they are rubbish for my teeth! When I am high I need lots of insulin to get me down aswell when I am high I am really thirsty and need the toilet a lot.

Having diabetes can make you rubbish at times. So when I'm high I feel extremely grumpy and get cross at every thing I do. When I'm low I get a headache  and I talk differently.

I have chosen to do this swimathon to help raise money to find a cure for diabetes. I swim 3 times a week so I keep fit and to keep my diabetes on track.

Thanks for taking time to visit my fundraising page, I’ll be doing this challenge to raise funds for JDRF the worlds leading type 1 diabetes charity. There are currently 400,000 people in the UK with type 1 diabetes, over 29,000 of them are children. Thanks again for your support.
