No Chocolate, Sweets or Fizzy Drinks for Lent · 2 March 2022

British-Ukrainian Aid supports people in any part of the world who are the victims of war or natural disaster, trouble, or catastrophe in particular by the supply of medical aid to such persons and organisations caring for them.

Story

Hi,

My name is Suzy and I'm from a small village in Worcestershire. Upon reading the news recently, I have found myself devastated and completely heartbroken over the actions that Putin has created and used upon Zelensky, and the population of Ukraine. I can't ever imagine how those families must be feeling. To be woken up one evening to an eerie sound of a siren, unsure on what's happening and why, with no time to prepare or evacuate... Some families with young children, some families with elderly relatives who are on their last days of life, some people who are working late caring for others in a hospital, some people who might be studying until the early hours of the morning to ensure that they graduate with the grades that they wish for... For it all to be destroyed and crumbled within a matter of seconds. The unfaithfulness and disgusting thoughts that have managed to go through Putin's head, the thoughts and actions that he's put in to his soldiers It's not right and it needs to end.

Families have lost their homes. Families have lost their possessions. Families have lost their money, their mobile phones, their rights of freedom to walk the streets of their own country... But worst of all, families have lost families.

Women and children have had to wave a goodbye to their fathers, grandfathers, brothers, husbands... So that they can find safety whilst they stay behind and fight for what is theirs.

To get up and evacuate your country with nothing in your hands. Having to evacuate with nothing but the clothes on your body and the shoes on your feet - Some don't even have that.

The least that we can do is support them, keep spreading positivity and pray that God can help heal and guide those who have lost everything along their way of survival.

Please help me raise some money towards this charity, who are funding emergency equipment for those who have been injured, and are helping those Women, Men and Children who have had to flee their home unexpectedly without any belongings.
