Louise Edwards is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Swim for Dementia · 31 March 2026 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I'm making a splash and taking on Swim for Dementia. My mum is affected as she has a mixed diagnosis of Alzheimers and Vascular Dementia. So this is something which means alot to me personally and I would love to be able to raise funds for this amazing charity. Plus when something is for charity, I can't seem to say "no".

I will be taking part from 1st October 2025, will be swimming 21 miles, which is the width of the English Channel during October to raise funds while also increasing my fitness and raising funds for a great cause.

Around a million people are currently living with dementia across the UK. Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer's Society is here for everyone affected.

Wherever they are, whatever they're going through. Your donations will keep me going so please hit the Give Now button and donate what you can to help beat dementia. Thank you!
