Last year, a team of people with connections to Children's Hospice South West took to the open water of Lake Wimbleball - with varying degrees of swimming experience - to raise money for their favourite children's hospice by swimming 2 or 4km.

This year, most charities have lost serious chunks of their fundraising streams as lockdown prevented organised events from taking place and CHSW is no exception. Meanwhile, our front line staff have completely changed the way they work - going on community visits, hosting online support and activity sessions, while continuing to provide end of life care in zoned houses, in order to carry on supporting children and families to make the most of precious lives.

Happily, the Exmoor Open Water Swim is going ahead and some of us loved it so much last year that we're doing it again!  A smaller team, a lot less training due to lockdown, a more modest fundraising target - lets face it, times are tough!

Katie, Ian and I will be hitting the chilly autumnal water on Sunday 26th September.  Donate some pennies, spread the word, share and like, come down to support us on the day - whatever you can do will make a difference.

***UPDATE*** Unfortunately, due to some admin setbacks, Katie's place in the swim did not get confirmed and the swim's COVID Safe measures mean that she can't be re-registered last minute.  We are all devastated that she can't take part this year, but Ian and I know she'll be cheering us on.  It just means we'll have to do it all again next year...
