Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge 2016 · 16 July 2016 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Alzheimer's - and other forms of dementia - are terrible diseases, robbing sufferers not only of their independence, but also their memories, sometimes even of their closest loved ones. They place a huge burden not only on the sufferer, but also on their carers - often themselves elderly.  Alzheimer's society provides support for those affected by dementia and their carers, as well as  funding research to help understand and prevent dementia.

Please help me to support them in what they do.  I've chosen a challenge I expect to find tough, the Yorkshire Three Peaks of  Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough - 24 miles on foot with about 1600m of ascent, within a target of 12 hours.   I'll be doing lots of training and practice walks, but your support will help propel me up the last peak !
