Story
I am running the London Marathon for Alzheimer's Society in memory of my all time favourite person and best friend - Dougie Read. Watching the strongest, most capable, kind and generous man disappear before our eyes was the hardest thing we have faced as a family...so surely running 26 miles will be a breeze in comparison.
For those living with Dementia life can be incredibly isolated and frightening as they begin to lose their sense of identity and most precious memories. Alzheimer's Society works so hard to make sure those with Dementia stay connected to their own lives and to the people they love the most.
So whether you sponsor me because this charity is close to your heart, because you knew and loved Dougie Read as much as I did or just because you can't believe these little legs are running a marathon, THANK YOU. Every bit of support will help to make life a little less scary for all the amazing people suffering from this disease.
