Story

I am extremely proud and excited to say that i will be running the 2026 London Marathon, it’s something i’ve always aspired to achieve, not only for myself but for my family. Hence why i am running for a charity so close to us, Alzheimer’s Society.

Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia in the UK. Dementia is the name for a group of symptoms associated with an ongoing decline of brain functioning. It can affect memory, thinking skills and other mental abilities.

On the 26th April i will be running the London Marathon for my Grandma, who suffered from Alzheimer’s within the last few years of her life. This will be an amazing achievement for me, running for such an amazing person who me and my sister adored growing up. Creating so many memories that will stay by me forever. Without failure, myself and Holly would visit at least twice a week, these days i wouldn’t change for the world.

Watching my Grandma slowly deteriorate was rather emotional, however we’ll always remember her for her outgoing personality and the love she had for all of her grandchildren.

Through raising money, my main objective is to raise awareness for this cruel disease and for those who are currently suffering, wether it’s the person themselves or families dealing with it, but also underline the amazing woman my Grandma was.

Thank you for reading. Any support will be hugely appreciated, whether its from the smallest of donations if your feeling generous to a message. Thank you!
