Fortel, the main sponsors of Team Atlantis will be challenging themselves to raise money all in aid of Papyrus. The charity that helps prevent young suicide.
Team Atlantis have come together in loving memory of their very dear late friends Robert Daniel Smith and Jatinder Singh Chatha (Jet) to help raise money in aid of Papyrus.
Suicide is one of the world’s most predominant and avoidable leading causes of death. 28 in every 100,000 people commit suicide every year in the UK.
PAPYRUS exists to give young people hope and to prevent young suicide.
The World Health Organisation estimates that over 800,000 people die by suicide each year – that’s one person every 40 seconds. Up to 25 times as many again make a suicide attempt. This means that there are many, many more people who have been bereaved by suicide or have been close to someone who has tried to take his or her own life.
PAPYRUS exist to reduce the number of young people who take their own lives by shattering the stigma around suicide and equipping young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to suicidal behaviour.
