Fundraising for Friends of PICU
Story
A message from mummy : On the 29th of August 2015, Tahlia Luella Williams my daughter was born. She weighed a tiny 6Ibs6oz and looked perfect, however the battle began to save her life. I found out at 20 weeks that Tahlia had a heart condition that would need open heart surgery at just days old. After many tests during pregnancy I found she had a remarkable chance of living a normal life. Tahlia went down for her first surgery at just 3 days old and me and my sister were told this was a success and that she wouldn't need another surgery until she was 2 - 3 years old, little did we know this was the start of a journey that will never leave us. Unfortunately Tahlias heart condition was so much more complicated than anyone believed. Tahlia fought with such strength through another 3 open heart surgerys and a smaller heart surgery. With 5 open heart surgerys and a battle beyond the strength of anyone we have ever met and the doctors and nurses and surgeons of the PICU ward in Southampton had ever seen, Tahlia lost her battle at just 27 days old on the 25th of September 2015 in my arms with my sister and our dad by our sides.
There are now many things in which we wish to achieve which is all detailed on our Facebook page Tahlia Luella's Legacy however this just giving page is to raise awareness and money to raise money to supply life saving machines and mattresses to the PICU in Southampton. Our first stage, we would love to raise 10,000 pounds towards a new giraffe bed for the ward, these cost 25,000 pounds. We will be organising many events to make this dream a reality and we will keep our princesses name alive and help to stop other families living the nightmare we now live and help to save babies lives, all in your name Tahlia.
