Story
Like so so many other families across the country, Macmillan have been an absolute godsend to mine over the last couple of years, and I do not want to think how things would've been without them. The work they do to help not just those going through cancer but their families and friends is invaluable, every nurse goes above and beyond their job description with the upmost care and the biggest smile and makes every day that little bit easier.
This is probably going to be the hardest thing I have challenged myself to so far. Despite running being a huge part of my teen years, in 2020 I was advised to stop running by my consultant as it was affecting my fusion on my spine, gutted I never got to run a marathon I reluctantly listened and packed away my running shoes. However, committing to the Edinburgh Bucket List I helped make when I moved up for my master's and seeing Macmillan were the partner charity there have seemed to be too many stars aligning and here we are.
It's not going to be fast and it's not going to be pretty, but we will get to the end, hopefully raise a lot of money for this wonderful charity and probably drink a lot of gin afterwards.
