Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Here's my story...

I moved to Siem Reap, Cambodia at the end of October 2016 and decided to run the 16km part of the Angkor Ultra both as a personal challenge and to fundraise for a very worthwhile cause here.

On a personal level; I've not ran any distances races for 2 years due to injury and never in the heat and humidity of Cambodia. This will make the 6 weeks I have to train and the race itself a real challenge!

I've also been struck by the friendly, happy people of Cambodia, despite many of them being extremely poor and living in poverty. This is why I decided to run for Volunteer Build Cambodia (VBC), to give something back to these communities. 

The funds I raise will help VBC improve the living conditions of Cambodian families in need by providing them with safe, dry housing. Also to build and repair houses, wells and toilet facilities.
