In January I am heading off to Bangladesh with the charity Tearfund through the government funded programme ICS. 

Bangladesh is one of the world’s most densely populated countries, having 47 million people living in poverty. 

As a team we will be teaching the local youth of the community the necessary and helpful skills to get a job. Whether that be helping them to write a CV, how to present themselves, and/or helping them have the confidence to speak to large groups. We will also be inspiring them and supporting them to set up their own business's, or giving them the encouragement to pick up a new skill like fishing! We will also make sure they know how to be involved in the decision making of the government.

The International Citizenship Programme (ICS) is an overseas volunteering programme for 18-25 year olds, and provides a platform for young adults from the UK to work alongside local young adults in developing countries and to learn first hand about poverty and injustice and discover ways to help tackle it. The money that you donate will go towards enabling the overall cost of ICS and help to ensure they can continue to send out volunteers and make a difference.
