Story
On Saturday 22 June, Rob and I will be taking part in the Macmillan Giant's Causeway Mighty Hike, walking 13 miles along the north coast of Northern Ireland.
We will be doing this in memory of our good friend Aram, who died in December.
Aram was diagnosed with throat cancer in early 2023. He got the all-clear in the summer after chemo, but in November he was told the disease had come back and was now in his spine and liver. The oncologist's initial prognosis was that Aram had 1-2 years left, but the cancer was incredibly aggressive and he died at the end of December in hospice care.
We never got to say goodbye to him, and we're still in shock at how quickly the cancer got him but are very grateful that he was well looked after when he needed it.
We're doing this walk in his memory and to raise money for Macmillan to allow them to continue to provide their essential services to people living with cancer.
We have each pledged to raise £250 and would appreciate any support in reaching this. £250 could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
Thank you for your generosity.
