Grandma & Granddad - Hope we do you proud! Xx

London to Brighton Challenge · 25 May 2013 ·
Now taking part in the TransPennine Challenge (it's t'up North so a bit closer to me now!) in June - training so far is proving to be effective, blistered heels last weekend after a long walk was a sign!
Thank you so much to everyone that has already donated, you are all stars - I really do appreciate it and it's so nice to know I'm half-way to my goal! xxx

My grandma was an incredible woman. Always active, loving, kind and in good spirits; nothing made me smile more than hearing her laugh down the phone or give me a big hug hello. And it was the same for everyone in the Wales family - she was the angel that kept us all together.
So when, on 15 December 2012, she died suddenly after having a stroke, it devastated all those that knew her. Only a couple of years before our beloved Chuckles, a man who was cherished by us all and who was my Grandma's sweetheart since she was 16, had died from a stroke also. In this short space of time these two people, who had helped raise me and been there for me my whole life, were both gone.
It just goes to show how Stroke awareness and acting fast is vital in saving people's lives: a delay in getting help can result in death or long-term disabilities. And so I've decided, along with my amazing cousins, to do something to help raise awareness.
I've never fundraised before, let alone been a dab hand at exercise, so trekking 65 miles (the length of 2 and a half marathons) in under 30 hours is going to be a tough one! But with your help in reaching our target, and with the loving memory of our grandparents, I know we can do it....time to get training!
