We raise funds for cancer care in Pakistan to help save thousands of lives

COMPLETED - see 2019 challenge if you would like to donate to the same cause. Thank you!

3rd January 2019

A big THANK YOU to all of you who have either donated, shared my page, or read my story. I am absolutely delighted to see that you have dug so deep to exceed my set target!

Your generosity will make a huge difference in the lives of the underprivileged cancer patients who are treated at the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Centres in Pakistan (Imran Khan Cancer Appeal).

Thank you once again, may god bless you!

Please keep a look out for my next IKCA 2019 fundraising challenge.

24th October 2018

On 15th October the IKCA team and I reached Everest Base Camp successfully. What a horrendous journey both physically and mentally, but a fraction of the hardship these cancer patients have to go through for cancer diagnosis and treatment.

This was the first time in my life that I hiked a mountain- and what a feat it was.For the full report please click below:

I THANK every single one of you for your support in both donations and publicity of the cause. All of this contributed to raising crucial hospital funds for this charity.

THANK YOU again for your support this year- which has been a memorable 2018!

June 2018

Thank you for logging onto my page again.

I have now decided to take this challenge to another level to help me reach my target.  I have just signed up to complete my very first skydive!

I am hoping that this will encourage those of you who are yet to sponsor or are thinking that the Everest Base Camp Challenge is not pushing me to my limits to donate:-)

On 28th June I will exit the DHC Twin Otter at a staggering 13,000 ft above the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. With temperatures averaging 45c and humidity levels of 60% this will be a very good warm up for the EBC challenge in October!

If this is the first time you have logged onto my page, please read below why I chose to support this cause and why I signed up for the EBC challenge earlier this year. You can also read more about me in the below link when I was interviewed by IKCA (Imran Khan Cancer Appeal).

Thank you again for your time to read my page and please do share the page with friends and family which is worth a very generous donation in itself.

Thank you!

January 2018

Every day I work on ensuring that patients afflicted with cancer are provided with the best in class diagnosis and treatment. However, this option is not available for up to 30% of patients in Pakistan who are failing to access cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment for financial reasons only.

Supporting Imran Khan’s Cancer Appeal (IKCA) over the past few years has given me the sense of satisfaction that I am somehow supporting cancer patients with their battle against cancer, something that we in the developed world take for granted with the NHS and Medical Insurers at our door step.

Since its establishment (IKCA) has spent in excess of £307million on providing free cancer care in Pakistan. Last year, charity donations enabled:

10,654 admissions for new cancer patients 74,658 cancer related surgeries 655,074 radiotherapy treatments 387,158 chemotherapy treatments. Originally from the same province as Imran Khan, a fan of his cricket career and my recent move to the US state of Arizona with an abundance of mountain ranges, it seemed a like the perfect opportunity to take the charity so close to my heart to another level; to raise funds by completing the Mount Everest Base Camp Challenge.

Challenge details:
5th October 2018
A 17-day round trip trek with extreme weather, altitudes that rise up to 5,364m (18,208ft), sleeping in basic lodges and at times with no beds.

Remote wilderness will mean no (or very limited) wifi, cellular network and no electricity. I will also be observing a slightly conservative luggage allowance of 15kg for the 17-day round trip!

No doubt, the next 9 months will involve some rigorous training. In addition to the daily 6km run at 805m (2,640ft) I will participate in a number of hikes and training events to prepare for this challenge. This page will be updated with event details and photos, so you can be part of my journey to Mount Everest Base Camp, Nepal.

Please donate any amount and or even just by sharing this page would be of great help too!

Thank you for stopping by to read and supporting my cause.
