Most of us know someone who has suffered a stroke and the after effects can range from being very minor to life changing and in the worst case DEATH.
Stroke is the 4th single largest cause of death in the UK and 2nd in the world and yet compared with other major causes of death the annual spend on medical research in the UK is tiny.
When a work colleague and close friend of ours (Paul Jarvis) suffered a stroke in February it came completely out of the blue. Six months on, Paul has only just left hospital where he has received intensive therapy in order to regain the ability to do the simple things that we all take for granted.
A group of us from Blanson Ltd decided we wanted to do something to show our support and the idea of cycling from Leicester to Hunstanton is the challenge we have settled on. We have since been joined by family and friends and the total number of people taking part is now over 20.
We have set a target of £5000 to raise for the Stroke Association but of course we would like to raise as much as possible. We are extremely grateful for any donation you can make.
Cyclists are:
Andy Turner, Martin Towers, Jason Fox, Jack Brewin, Callum Price, Craig Evans, Stephanie Farmer, Elaine (Claire) Towers, Gary Turner, Glen Turner, John Sugden, Daniel Moore, Martin Coats, Andy Coats, Dan Herring........
Support vehicles:
