Running the race to support Chalk Farm Foodbank

Story

Our wonderful friend Johannah regularly donates her time to help out the Chalk Farm foodbank, run by Revelation Church in London. In lives filled with work, work, work, we are hoping to help out in the best way we know how - by lacing up our trainers and taking to the streets of London in the London 10,000 race.

We're hoping to raise £120 to invest in the future of the Chalk Farm foodbank project and help them provide much-needed support to people in crisis in our community.

Thirteen million people live below the poverty line in the UK, with individuals going hungry every day for a range of reasons, from benefit delays to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income.

The Trussell Trust’s 400-strong network of foodbanks provide a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK. In 2015/16, they gave 1,109,309 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.

The Trussell Trust recognise that stopping hunger is about More Than Food, which is why they’re working with foodbanks to provide a range of new services like money advice and Fuel Banks, helping people to break the cycle of poverty.

Thank you so much for supporting the work of foodbank and our trusty trainers.
