Ed, Lizzie, George, Minnie, Charlotte and Tilly (on the back of a bike!!)  are undertaking a fundraising event to cycle 18 miles of The Camel Trail  this August.  We will start at Wenford Bridge and then cycle along the trail to: Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow fundraising along the way.  We will then catch the ferry to Rock and ride the 1.5 miles (uphill!) back to the house.  Ed will then carry-on and cycle a further 12.5 miles back to Wenford Bridge to collect the car.  Why are we doing this.........?

Tilly was born with progressive hearing loss and is now profoundly deaf in her right ear and moderate to severe in her left.  It is not until you have a child with a disability that you realise how important support is for us as parents, as a family and especially for Tilly.  We first heard of The Elizabeth Foundation (TEF) when Tilly was 6 months old and have been attending ever since.  For Tilly, it has been an incredible experience where she has learnt and grown within herself and where the staff at TEF have taught her (and importantly us as parents) to cope and prepare her for mainstream education.

TEF has done so much for us, we felt we would like to do something in return and to ensure other children, like Tilly, have the opportunity to benefit from this incredible organisation.  TEF is reliant on the generosity of the public and its fundraising activities each year.   

The Elizabeth Foundation (TEF) helps deaf babies and pre school children learn to listen and speak. They are there to support and inform families from the moment their child is diagnosed with any degree of hearing loss. This year over 80 babies, toddlers and pre-school children will attend specialist education programmes and get individual speech and language therapy
