Story

On Sunday 29th March 2020, myself and our family listed below are running a half marathon in aid of Kidney Research UK.

Ben Baylis, Ellie Baylis, Gemma Baylis, Beth Baylis, Olivia Sandler, Rob Sandler and Daisy Mathews.

This is a charity very close to our hearts as our dad (Ben Baylis) suffers from polycystic kidneys. He spent 2 years on dialysis as his kidneys began to deteriorate rapidly, followed by a Kidney Transplant in April 2018. This is when the beloved Sydney the Kidney joined our crazy family.

He very kindly passed his polycystic kidneys to myself (Ellie Baylis) and my sister (Gemma Baylis) - so Kidney Research is going to help us massively in years to come. Beth luckily escaped them (perfect child) but you never know, she may need to donate one of hers to us one day!

It began as just the 4 of us trying to complete this challenge but we are very lucky to have some of our favourite people that ‘want’ to join us on this run.

In December 2019, majority of us struggled to even run 1 mile. To get to 13 miles is going to take a lot of blood, sweat and tears. It’s going to be anything but easy so please donate to push us along. All will be very much appreciated!

Thank you so much in advance xxxx
