On August 28th 2016, some of SBL's finest are ascending on York Knavesmire to take part in St Leonard's Hospice's "It's a Knockout" Tournament. We would love to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause so we need your help and support.

About St Leonard's Hospice 

St Leonard's Hospice is an independent charity, providing specialist palliative care and support for local people with life limiting illnesses.

Their care is free of charge to patients and their families but not free to provide. As a charity they rely heavily on the generosity of the public to help raise the £4.5 million it costs each year to run St Leonard’s Hospice. This equates to over £500 for every hour of every day. Although St Leonard’s does get some public funding the majority of the running costs have to be raised from donations and fundraising by the local community - businesses, groups and individuals. Legacies are by far their greatest source of income.

St Leonard's Hospice "It's a Knockout"

If you are looking for something funny and exciting to do on Sunday 28th August, the Knavesmire in York is the place to be, for the famous St Leonard's Hospice “It’s a Knockout” Tournament. It's a great opportunity to see us looking silly and facing  some slippery foamy obstacles! 

There will be many teams which represent a range of local businesses, organisations, community groups and families. We need lots of people to head to the Knavesmire to cheer us on, and to enjoy the family fun day. There'll be lots to see and do apart from the main event, with rides, tombolas, games, cake stalls, inflatables, as well as a cake stall and a burger van.

Entry for spectators is free, and the tournament starts at 10.30 am, bring a picnic and enjoy the spectacle. Plenty of parking available for a suggested donation of just £1 too!
