Thank you for choosing to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA). As a charity YAA relies on the generosity of individuals & organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire. To keep both of Yorkshire’s air ambulances in the air we need to raise £19,000 per day. Thank you from the team YAA.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year we put Team Transplant together and raised a considerable sum for the West Riding Kidney Patient Association who support the Leeds Renal unit that carried out my wife's Transplant in 2014.

This year Team Transplant will be officially representing The Yorkshire Air Ambulance at several Soapbox races but our main events will be the Harewood Hill Climb on Sunday 20/08/17.

and the Micklegate Soapbox run 28/08/17 Bank Holiday Monday.

On the 19 September 2008 myself and a friend were involved in an accident, back then I had my own aircraft and was the membership secretary for the North Yorkshire Flying Club, it was a simple 5 minute flight to take pictures for the club website, that through no fault of our own went very badly wrong, please note that the information in the following press article and video regarding the reasons are very wrong to say the least !!! There was no pilot error as the subsequent CAA investigation went on to prove.

I wont shy away from it, I thought my friend, a very highly qualified instructor was dying, to see that bright Yellow life saving helicopter land 5 meters away from us in a wet soggy field was an amazing experience. Our subsequent appearance on Helicopter Heroes on the BBC shows the crash site devastation that we were both very lucky to escape.

You can get all the information from the website, but,  they need £12,000 a day to operate the two Aircraft that we are lucky to have in this area, they are bought and owned by them and cost £6,000 000 each.

Thanks for reading so far and if you can support us in any way then thank you, if not please support the Harewood Hill Climb Sopabox Race on 20/08/17 (they are also supporting the Yorkshire Air Ambulance) and Micklegate Run 2017 on Bank Holiday Monday in York on 28/08/17.
