In September this year, over my 30th birthday weekend, we will be hiking the 3 highest peaks in the UK within 24 hours to raise money for Blood Cancer UK – a community dedicated to beating blood cancer.

Since our Dad’s diagnosis with AML in November last year, he has been through a gruelling 6 months of chemotherapy treatment, and he is putting up an amazing fight!!

Over 40,000 people are diagnosed with a blood cancer each year in the UK, and over 250,000 people are currently living with blood cancer. We are raising money to make sure our Dad, and all others diagnosed with Blood Cancer, continue to get the care and treatment they need.

£10 could allow researchers to analyse the genetic make-up of a blood cancer cell – helping to increase our understanding of how blood cancer develops

£30 could pay for scientists to identify the different types of cells in a sample using a process called flow cytometry – helping researchers to understand the features of cancer cells

£50 could help scientists find out what genes are active in a tumour sample – helping to identify new potential drug targets.
