We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

As most of you are probably aware, Lynn and I have a passion for Obstacle Course Racing and over the years we've done our fair share.

At the weekends you're almost certain to find us wading through mud and other brown coloured materials, pushing ourselves up hills and
crawling under barbed wire which we've always just done for enjoyment (if that is the right word).

In 2017 we wanted to raise a bit of money for a cause very close to our hearts so in order to do that we has to raise our OCR game.

Some of you may know that friends of ours, Graeme and Tanya, lost their son (Super) Sam in July 2016 at the age of 5. Sam suffered
from a Medulloblastoma, which is a high risk tumour. Sam was a fighter who never complained when things got tough and it’s that spirit we’ll need to channel to get through each and every event to raise some money in his honour.

All money raised will go directly to the Brain Tumour Charity and be used towards researching high grade paediatric brain tumours,
which are currently seriously underfunded, with less than 2% of the national funding.

2018 Race Schedule:

7th January - MacTuff, Scotland. Set at the idealic Knockhill race track north of Edinburgh, MacTuff promises to banish any post Hogmanay hangover with a mix of mud, ice and the infamous "Sandbag Hill", which won the award of Toughest Obstacle 2016 at the 2016 OCR Scotland Awards.

4th February - Tough Guy. Created by the Legend that is Mr Mouse, it's the original and best Obstacle Course with a fearsome reputation where Hypothermia is almost guaranteed! Put simply without Tough Guy none of these other events would exist.

13th May - Europe’s Toughest Mudder - Midlands. The 2nd time the “Toughest” branch of Tough Mudder has come to the UK. The 8 hour event is set between 12am and 8am. Runners must complete as many laps of the 5mile course as possible in the allotted time. In 2017 we managed 3 laps, this year we're aiming for at 5.

14th July - Annandale Way - Knowing most people prefer not to spend their weekend waist deep in mud, we thought we'd put on an event for all levels of fitness. The full Annandale Way is a 40mile walk from the centre of Moffat to Annan. There will be various distance options available.

5th August - Ultra Warrior, Shap. One of our favourite events which is almost local, albeit 40 miles away. Total Warrior upped it's game in 2017 with the introduction of the "Ultra". 5 Hours to cover as many laps of the 10K course as possible. 2017 saw MrC rack up 30K which placed him 5th overall and 1st int he Under 40's Category. This Year MrsC will be joining the Ultra ranks with a podium stop in her eye!

Bonus Events: We're also hoping to arrange an event that everyone can join, but more details on that later in the year. Finally we also have 2 "training" days on Criffel in April and May for anyone who wants to join us, again details of these later.
