UPDATE - 23rd June - we’ve reached our first £1500 target! Our new target is now £2000. Thank you all so much for the wonderfully generous donations

On 10th and 11th September, almost one year since Jill passed away, Jess, Hattie and Ben will be walking 100km non-stop from Fulham to Henley as part of the Thames Path Challenge, to raise money for The Eve Appeal.

The Eve Appeal supports and covers funding gaps in the research into gynaelogical cancers - one of the rarer forms of cancers, which 22,000 women are diagnosed with each day. 21 of those women will lose their lives.

Jill Wragg was one of them. She was a truly pure, good human who always put herself above anyone else - whether they were friends, family, or total strangers. Her kindness radiated in every aspect of her life, from her relationship with Steve, her husband of 48 years, to her daughter, Jess, who was her very best friend. She was sharp, quick-witted, and generous, but most importantly she understood people. She cared. She found joy in making others happy. People like Jill don't come around often.

Her battle with this cancer should have been avoidable, she should have survived, but this cancer is under appreciated and research is under funded. It ended up being a harder fought battle than anyone imagined, and it eventually led to her passing away on 16th September 2021. She is missed, sorely - the hole she left in the lives of family and friends forever getting bigger with each day that goes by. There will never be another quite like our Jill.

Jess, Hattie and Ben have pledged to raise over £1,500 in sponsorship for their charity walk. The walk will take between 20 and 24 hours, with very short breaks in between, and will begin in London, the place Jill loved to visit the most, and end in Henley the following day. Please consider donating even the smallest amount to this Just Giving page to help them reach their target.

Since her passing, Jill's memory has raised over £4000 for the incredible Ashgate Hospice. We want to ensure that we continue to keep her legacy alive by continuing to raise money for causes that really, truly mean something.
