Ronald McDonald House Charities Skydive Weekend
Campaign by Ronald McDonald House Charities (RCN England and Wales (802047), Scotland (SC040717))
When the best medical care isn't close to home, a Ronald McDonald House keeps families together. We're running our first ever weekend of skydiving to help support Ronald McDonald House Charities UK.

Story

This mission has come about through our support of Tess Walker as we have joined her the Warrior mission to run from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise money for those charities that supported her when Drew was seriously ill in hospital.  This is a cause also close to my heart as when my youngest was less than a month old he became very poorly with what was discovered to be meningitis, an enterovirus and complete organ failure.  It was a stressful time and there were no beds at Blackburn paediatric intensive care which meant we had to be transferred to another hospital.  We were originally told we were going to Manchester where we could stay with our 1 year old in Ronald McDonald House and still be together as a family which meant a huge amount.  Unfortunately we ended up being transferred to Leicester where there was no such provision and, had it not been for having close family in the area, things would have been so much harder at what was already an extremely tough time!  I think these should be everywhere supporting families when they need it the most and I'm happy to raise money for them so please do support Patrice and I in our insane mission!  Every penny counts! As many of you will know my youngest is now a strapping teenager!! (Laraine)

Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free accommodation and support for families with children in hospital. When the best medical care isn't close to home, a Ronald McDonald House keeps families together. Just £25 can help support a family for one night. Your donation will make the world of difference to families in need.
