Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our ‘Team Lotery’ Southampton ABP Half-Marathon Justgiving page.  I am grateful to my wife Helen and son Christopher for joining me on my run.

The Gift of Sight Appeal raises funds to support scientific research into blinding eye diseases.  Our vision science team in the University of Southampton has grown incredibly over the past few years and
I am raising funds to make sure that we can fund more students and scientists to keep the impetus going on our vital research projects.

Your sponsorship will encourage me to run faster, help me raise much needed funds and also keep me healthy so I can keep researching!

Thanks again from Helen, Christopher and myself for your support.

Gift of Sight funds world-class research into the prevention and treatment of blindness. Principal areas of research are Age-related macular degeneration, the commonest cause of blindness in the Western world, Glaucoma, Nystagmus and diabetic eye disease which is an increasing cause of visual impairment.
