Story

We are Team Nelson and we are all running the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) to raise money for Ataxia UK.  On the starting line we have Sinead Nelson, Ailis Nelson, Janusz Nelson and Rachel Nelson.

Why are we doing this we hear you ask? Our family is impacted by
Friedreich’s Ataxia and there is currently no cure, so we are running to raise awareness of this horrible and progressive genetic condition that impacts our lives every day. We are passionate about raising money for Ataxia UK, who provide endless support for the families affected by this condition, and who are also putting significant efforts into research to try to find treatments.
Hopefully one day, we are confident that with the right level of support, they will find a cure.

We promise to put in the miles and do our best on the day, and in return we ask that you share a few pennies to help us raise an incredible amount of money for ATAXIA UK and to help them keep doing the amazing work they do.

Also a big shout out to our little Nelson support crew who provide
unwavering support in the training sessions. We have, to name but a few: Nick, Joel, Hannah, Bapcha Irena, Irena (pumpkin), James, Odran, Tobiasz, Isabelle, Penelope, Tziporah, Apolonia, Inigo, Henry, Cyrus, Stacha and Peppy.

Wish us luck and we truly hope to do Ataxia UK proud.

Much Love from Team Nelson
