London to Brighton walk

London 2 Brighton 2017 · 27 May 2017 ·
Not long ago I lost my lovely friend Fiona to cancer. Fiona was such a kind, gentle, generous and caring person. Despite years of therapy and operations, she never once complained and always put others first. In her memory, we want to do something to help others too. That's why on the 27-28th May a few friends and I will be attempting to walk 100 km (62 miles - more than two marathons!) as part of the London to Brighton challenge. We will be raising money for CLIC Sargent, a cancer charity that supports children and their families. Anything you can give will be much appreciated and will help motivate me to get to the finish line. Or, come and do the challenge with us!
CLIC Sargent is the charity that Fiona would have wanted us to support. They help families limit the damage cancer causes, beyond their health. Today, 11 more children and young people will hear the devastating news that they have cancer. From diagnosis, CLIC Sargent’s specialist care teams will step in to help, support and guide. CLIC Sargent fights for children and young people with cancer, individually, locally and nationally, so that they can focus on the important things, like getting well. And if the worst happens, they work with bereaved families to get them support to help them cope with their emotional pain. To find out more, visit www.clicsargent.org.uk.
Please do not tick yes for Gift Aid if you are sponsoring me on behalf of a company, or if you are a relative - I'm not allowed to claim Gift Aid on these donations.
