Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For anyone who knows me, knows that I attempt to run as a means to keep fit but am not a natural runner and nor do I enjoy it! So I’ve done the crazy thing and signed up to do a half marathon next March! Considering the furthest I’ve ever run has been 10k and that was tough.. this is going to be a real challenge for me!
But what better motivation to push myself than to raise some money for a charity that is close to mine and my family’s heart!
I will be running the half marathon with my cousin Sophie, in memory of our Granny Marj. Our Gran was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s not long after I was born. This horrible disease meant that she slowly deteriorated over the years until she sadly passed away in 2007.
I wouldn’t wish for anyone to have to see a loved one go through the battle of dementia. Whilst there is no cure for Alzheimer’s, the Alzheimer’s society not only does research to get a step closer to this but they also provide amazing services, be it advice/support or a bit of respite for those diagnosed with dementia and their carers! Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated.. or just any words of encouragement/advice on how to get through the run are welcomed!
