Story
My wife, Trish, has had Parkinson's since the turn of the decade. Until two years ago she had some mobility and could have some enjoyment in life. The last two years she has been in a care home and while she knows me and the family, she is 'locked in' and totally physically disabled. Because of a deformed neck she cannot eat well and she is down to half her weight. When she went into the home she asked me to make two promises. One was not to abandon her and I said I would make the care home my home; my whole life changed dramatically. The second promise she asked of me was to fight for her because she was losing her will power. I have tried to honour both promises. I did not expect that a disease such as Parkinson's would enter and change our lives so much, even when we helped care for Trish's father who also had Parkinson's many years ago. I have been very lucky with my health and flew as a military pilot for 30 years. During all that time, while I came close to descending by parachute I managed to avoid it. It is now payback time and perhaps I can make a small contribution towards those aflicted with this rotten disease. I will jump and and my grandson Mo will jump with me. To make it worthwhile we need the support of our friends.....Please help.
