Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Sorry for any typos below. I'll amend as I see them.

The GTI charity Drive.
3 men , one cunningly camouflaged 22 year old Convertible £500 BMW and a very expensive breakdown cover.
We will attempt to drive 2080 miles over 5 days visiting famous war landmarks on mainland Europe.
After leaving Rotherham we head for Dover and our first ferry crossing of the week.
Upon hitting Dunkirk ( home of the very famous rescue mission) we make our way to Saint Omer and the V2 rocket museum, rockets designed by the Germans and is the ancestor to most modern day rockets we make camp here for the night too.
Day2
We call into saint Quentin obviously it's main claim to fame is being twinned with Rotherham but it was once witness to being a part of 100 days offensive in ww1 upon the Saint Quentin Canal then on we drive to Verdun. Verdun was home to the largest and longest battle of ww1
Day3
We head into Ouvrage Hackenberg ,home to one of the largest Maginot line fortifications a huge concrete fortress designed to keep the invading german out of France
Speaking of the Germans our next stop is the eagles nest, Adolf Hitler's summer escape but also with amazing 360 degree views of the Alps
Day 4
The famous colditz case used in WW2 as a officer POW camp. We now set of back to Calais but first stopping by Remagan to see the Lundorff Bridge a huge bridge designed for the German army to move logistics and men over the river Rhine and was captured by the Americans at the end of ww2 enabling a quicker end to the war in Europe.

Fingers crossed our little £500 is still running at this point and gets us back to Calais.

Day 5

We go home
