Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Terry died suddenly at the age of 38 in his sleep from an undiagnosed asymptomatic heart condition (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy causing a fatal arrhythmia). As many people would say, he was the fittest and healthiest person they knew; thinking nothing of knocking out a 100+ mile cycle ride before lunch at the weekend with his wife Shari and their friends.

Born in Somerset, England, Terry studied Mathematics and Computation at Oxford University (LMH). After working in the UK for several years he moved to America through his work with BNP Paribas.

To meet other cyclists, he joined the New York Cycling Club where he became renowned for discovering new, scenic, low-traffic routes in and around the beautiful tri-state area. While on such a ride he met Shari Alexander who became his wife. Together they explored the hills and country roads, as well as the local food and fine beer of the Hudson Valley.

Terry was buried in Cold Spring, NY on Tuesday 3rd September 2013 with UK and USA memorials to follow. Leave a message below if you wish to be contacted with further details of the memorials.

Terry is survived by his wife, Shari Alexander, his parents Julie and Richard Leaves, his grandmother Marjorie Orme, his sister Naomi and her husband Craig Sinclair, and nephews Walter and Finlay.
