Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year I had a Paragliding accident where I had a frontal collapse and fell 40 ft to the ground. I broke two vertebrae in my back and had my foot in plaster for several weeks. Fortunately I have made a full recovery. Not only was I very, very lucky but my fate was very much secured by the professionalism and expertise of the ambulance and police, and also the people I have chosen to support, The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance service. I enjoy paragliding, hill walking and sea swimming, and it is of great comfort to know that if, and in my case when, I had difficulty, these brave men and women were there when most needed.
That is why I have chosen to challenge myself to the very hard task of swimming the English channel.
At over 21 miles at its narrowest I aim to achieve a task that less than 850 people have achieved, in fact more people have climbed Mount Everest than swum the Channel.
