Story
We are devastated. Last night our maintenance van was broken into - two power drills were taken, as well as a bag full of specialist electrical and hand tools. Because of the damage to the locks, we have had to take the van off of the road to be repaired.
The break-in has left our staff shocked and upset. The cost to the charity is significant – important jobs across the Hospice and in our shops will now be delayed and we will have to replace the tools that were taken. We will also have to take extra measures to
ensure all our vehicles are as safe as possible overnight.
We rely on our community to help raise 70 percent of the £8 million it costs every year to keep our Hospice running. All our teams go above and beyond to make sure every penny donated to us goes directly to ensuring patients and families receive the expert palliative and end-of-life care they desperately need when they need it most.
We have reported the incident to the police, but understand we are unlikely to recover the missing tools. If you are able to give anything at all to help us replace the tools, we would welcome any donations. We are so sad that this has happened and we would like to thank you for your continued support.
