Ribble Valley Challenge · 19 June 2010
In my quest for a new challenge I have managed to rope in my husband Geoff aka Ferret friends Doz and Si to walk 100km (62.5 miles apparantly the .5 is important says Ferret!) in 30 hours.
The two oldest of the team 50 and nearly 50 have been having boot dilemas during training which Doz has solved by buying a new pair and Ferret solved by buying 3 pairs (apparantly one pair for each 20 miles I told him barefoot last 2.5!!) and now actualy wearing walking socks rather than rubbish thin ones (the pussy walked back to his mum and dads for a lift home after walking just 5 miles he had blisters the big girl!!!
New boots on the boys stop moaning about their feet and put the world to rights if they could walk it on their jaws they would be there before you can blink!!
Ferrets now obsessed with GPS systems he bought a pedometer instantly passed it on to me after finding a GPS and then found another GPS because it was better than the other one!! Every hour we get a update with lots off figures and facts we have all learnt that each one tells a different story 10 no 8 no 12 no 20 miles Hmmmm we will go with the 20 miles and head for the pub!!
Small reminder to Ferret, Sprat is not doing the walk so forget your food you go hungry!!!
We have 2 beautiful assistance looking after us Jenny and Trish they will have to put up with the smell of our used socks when we change them and demands for food!!!!
Thank you for your time and donation, we have paid a £100 fee to sign up for the Ribble Valley Challenge with Sue Ryder Care and we have to raise a minimum of £250.00 each.
