Story
Well, the Journey is finally over. 300 hundred miles of hard pedalling in searing heat and headwinds. 100 gallant men visited on my bike and given a lovely poppy; plus 3 unknown civilians. Yorkshiremen, Northumbrians, Cumbrians; English, Scottish, Irish both north and south: Canadians, Americans, South Africans, French, German, Belgian, Polish and Czech. Chinese, Indian, Sikh; Australians, Kiwis and a Maori. Who knows who the Unknown Soldiers came from.
It was remarkable, exhausting, emotional. Most of all, worthwhile. Thank you all for your kind donations: I will declare the fundraising officially over at the end of July 2017 but the site will remain open for the rest of the year.
