Story

My name is Ryan and I am going to be running the London Marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support. I want to give a massive thank you to Macmillan for choosing me to represent them. It is an absolute honour and a privilege. Who I'm *really* doing this for is my dad. My dad was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer back in February this year. It wasn't easy to hear at the time and it's not any easier to think about now. Running has been my coping mechanism through it all. When I'm running I'm clearing my mind and letting that emotion out in a positive way.

My dad has been my hero since I was a wee boy and I've always looked up to him. Now it's my turn to do something heroic for him. I will run the London Marathon in under 3 hours. Only around 4% of marathon runners will finish in sub 3 hours so I want to make the big guy proud and put myself in that elite category.

Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
