I am a musician, lecturer in music, guitarist and composer. I love to create comic songs alongside my more 'serious' work and this Christmas 'rap' with its big sing-a-long chorus is something I have hoped to share with people for some time. Since arriving in Scotland in August, I have been performing in care homes in Perthshire. I find myself inspired, touched and moved by the wisdom, warmth and gratitude shown by those in their later years. I am also amazed at the effort good, ordinary people put in, so that all can approach later life with dignity and a positive outlook. I am aware that some in later life encounter issues of loneliness as well as the obvious health challenges. I think it's unacceptable in a great society like ours that this should be the case. Cue The Season of Joy and Good Cheer!

The chorus to the song The Season of Joy and Good Cheer has been recorded by friends from my home village of Bridge of Earn as well as by singing friends and acquaintances across Europe! Listeners have to endure the spectacle of me - a middle-class 'classical' musician rapping. I cringe at the thought...

 I want listeners and viewers to enjoy the film and recording, have a good belly-laugh and give a few quid to a truly fabulous cause.
