2 Year old Tom had a heart transplant in Nov 15.

David Edwards is raising money for The Sick Children's Trust

Great North Run 2016 · 11 September 2016 ·

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Sick Children's Trust put us up in some amazing accommodation called Scott House, next to the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, before and after Tom's heart transplant in Nov 2015.  We didn't have to pay a penny to stay there and Andrew and his team were so hospitable and treated us like one of their own. It's only right that we try and give something back to them now that Tom is making good progress at home so I am getting my trainers on again for the Geordie half marathon in September (The Great North Run).  Please dig deep for this great charity that provides home from home accommodation for the families of some of the sickest children in the UK with severe heart conditions.

You can view Tom's previous Justgiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/Thomas-Alfie-Edwards while he was waiting for a heart transplant and we raised an amazing amount for CHUF.
