Michelle Wyse is raising money for Little Princess Trust

Thomas Hair Donation · 30 October 2022

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

It was December 2019 when Thomas (who was only 7 years old) last went to the hairdressers and as we went into lockdown in the following March I said I would have to do a DIY hair cut. At this point he was adamant that I could not cut his hair and announced that he wanted to grow his hair for at least 3 years to raise money for children with cancer, burns victims and other casualties of hair loss. He had read about an American boy who had previously done this and was inspired to do the same. We are now nearing his 3 year target and his hair is down to his waist. He has never wavered from his goal and has remained determined despite being constantly mistaken as a girl and having to endure the morning sessions of hair brushing. He wants to raise enough money to make a wig out of his hair so that some child will benefit from his endeavours.

We are so proud of Thomas for his initial idea, and how he has continued to conduct himself throughout this journey. There has never been a time where he has faltered or changed his mind and he has always kept his ambition and dedication to the cause as his main objective.

We would therefore love to celebrate Thomas's endeavours and raise money for The Little Princess Trust children's charity. This fundraising will help to  make a wig with Thomas's hair and we appreciate any support that you can give us, and ultimately a child who needs it as they are going through a difficult time. xxx
