Story
Welcome to my JustGiving page, where I want to tell you all about some exciting plans and hopefully persuade you to donate to a really fantastic cause.
Next March I will be going to Bukoba, Tanzania for 12 weeks where I will be living with a host family and working on the Improving Children’s Learning and Participation (ICLP) project. This has been run by VSO for several years now, aiming to improve the quality of the education offered to children and address many of the social issues surrounding it in the community.
The work VSO do out in Tanzania creates practical and sustainable solutions that begin to address the complex issues poverty presents. The schools already exist, but VSO ensures that quality education and support is given to the children, so they have the skills and resources needed for a brighter future.
International Citizens Service (ICS) run this placement, of which the first challenge is to raise £1500. This all goes go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged communities.
Any donations to help me reach my target would be really appreciated. I will be doing a few fundraising events, an undecided horrendous challenge and cake will also definitely be involved at some point. Any contribution to support me, big or small, will make a real difference to the lives of those in developing countries. So please dig deep to all my friends, family, acquaintances and random generous strangers, I will love you all.
Thank you!
VSO brings people together to address marginalisation and poverty. Right now, VSO is bringing justice to rape survivors in Pakistan, ending stigma against disabled children in Ethiopia and tackling the youth skills gap in Uganda. Please join me as I take a stand against poverty and support VSO's uniquely effective approach that reached over 1.5 million people last year alone.
