Between July 19th & 22nd July 2017 I will be cycling 328 miles from London to Paris. Although I've ridden to and from work for years up until a year ago my physical fitness wasn't great and there's no way I could have undertaken a challenge of this sort.

Anyone who has seen me over the course of the year will know I have "dropped some timber" and this is really the culmination of a years effort to get to where I am now.

Whilst it is a significant personal challenge I wanted to align the ride with a worthwhile cause and chose the Alzheimers Society. The event is aiming to raise £200,000 to further research and treatment of this horrible illness. I'm sure we all know someone or of someone who has been directly affected by the illness and I want to try and do something to assist with the development of treatment and support the Alzheimers Society. If I can raise £1500 that will pay for the Alzheimers Society to run their support service for 2 weeks or for a support worker to spend an hour a week for a whole year with someone suffering from Dementia.
