Thanks for visiting our page. Darren and I are raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research. We have signed up for a kayak ultra marathon called the Yukon River Quest in June 2017 and have been training hard since summer 2016.  The event is a 3 day race over 440 miles between White horse and Dawson on the Yukon River in Canada. There are two forced stops, one for seven hours and the next for three.  It seemed like a good idea one year out and is now becoming a frightening reality.

We lost our friend and colleague, Aaron Piggott while working in Italy in April 2015.  It was a shocking day which will stay with us for the rest of our lives.  Aaron was a fit and healthy man who showed no signs of the strain his heart was under.  If only he had had a thorough medical checkup, it might have been a very different story. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from charitable donations that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £25 could pay for an hour of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help us hit our target.
